Self Concept

Self Concept

  • It the belief you truly hold about yourself
I am strong
Self concept has three components according to Carl Rogers:
  1.  Self Image
  2. Ideal Self
  3. Self esteem

Self concept is active, dynamic and malleable. It can be influenced by social situations and even one's own motivation for seeking - knowledge.

Self-concept is just about the degree of confidence you have in yourself, your self-assurance, and how much you trust yourself. It's about realising whatever the hell you wanna attain, is yours for the taking. It's about thinking seemingly "big goals" are normal. It's about enlarging what you PERCEIVE and KNOW to be normal to you

In 1948 Lesson 4 Neville said 'No one to change but self': There is no one to change but self; that self is simply your awareness, your consciousness and the world in which it lives is determined by the concept you hold of self. It is to consciousness that we must turn as to the only reality.

When you change beliefs about yourself, you immediately see the world change. People choose to come to you, you randomly receive nicer things without even thinking, things that used to bother you don't have any anchor in your 3D experience anymore. You seemingly 'level up', life truly becomes a game, and you can have everything you ever thought that was so attainable, is now something you already know is yours for the taking.
